1 c. Buttermilk
2 tsp. dry yeast
1 T. oil
1/4 c. warm water
2 1/2 -3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine dry ingredients. Beat egg and add buttermilk, sugar, oil, and dissolved yeast. Add the dry ingredients slowly. Dust the counter with flour, and roll dough to about 5/8 inch thick. Cut dough into rectangles. Let rise about 30 minutes. Heat oil to 350 degrees in an electric frying pan or over the stove. Serve with honey butter.
